The Colour Purple is often associated with royalty, nobility, luxury, power and ambition. Purple also represents meanings of wealth, extravagance, creativity, wisdom, dignity, grandeur, devotion, peace, pride, mystery, independence and magic. – Taken from BournCreative.com
I italicized the key words royalty, power, ambition, creativity and grandeur because they reflected what i wanted to channel with this look. Even when taking the photos, I wanted to create a simple but strong approach to the purple cowl-neck. Not only is the feel to it luxurious, but it carries a dark sophistication that i adore about knits and winter wear. Dark hues make it a lot easier to bear the cold because for some reason they have a way to match with the weather. I decided to keep the look strictly match-y with the purple/pink leopard print scarf as a head wrap and the purple lined wayfarers.
I honestly cannot remember the last time i wore these black heels, but i have just realized how strongly empowering they can be with the elevated height. Of course the jewellery had to be minimal as much as possible because all the attention to this look focused around the cowl-neck knit.
This cowl-neck might be last season’s look (A/W 2014), but the quality attached to it with the beautiful knit stitch will always be my personal winter classic!
